Avantus announced Venkatesh Inti as new Chief Development Officer
Our top story this month is Avantus have announced a new Chief Development Officer will join the group to help them expand their development portfolio. Venkatesh Inti will join the group and comes from a strong renewables background working for companies including RWE, EDF, QCells and Strata Clean Energy. Cliff Graham Avantus CEO said “Venkatesh’s experience in clean energy development and proven ability to deliver large-scale projects will be essential as Avantus executes on its growth strategy”. Avantus currently has 30GW of solar and 94GWh of energy storage and will use Venkatesh’s experience to drive growth.
European Energy completes the sale of its largest solar park to date
Our second story is European Energy has completed the sale of its largest solar park to date. The sale in the United States marks the company’s second major divestment in the country since entering the market in 2021. It brings the total divested capacity in the country to 800MW. The company’s first U.S. project, Project Yellow Viking in Texas, was sold in 2023. European Energy’s latest “record-breaking” solar park, which has not been named, has been sold to an undisclosed buyer.
BrightNight’s 4GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Oregon
Our next story is BrightNight initiates permitting for a 4GWh BESS and solar project in Oregon. The project will feature up to 1GW of solar generation co-located with a 4GWh of BESS.
Aquila Energy announces launch into U.S. solar and BESS market
Finally, Aquila Energy announced its launch in the U.S. solar and battery energy storage market.
Made up of a team of solar specialists who worked together at Borrego Solar for a decade, the group reunited at Coldwell Solar, a California-based solar design, engineering and construction firm that provided Aquila’s first round of funding. California-based Aquila is an EPC that intends to take a “comprehensive approach that leverages preliminary engineering and deep market expertise to deliver smooth, on-time and on-budget outcomes for developers, IPPs, partners and communities.”
