Goldman Sachs invests $440 million in BrightNight renewable power

Goldman Sachs Alternatives invests $440 million that will fund BrightNight, a renewable power company 

The investment from Goldman Sachs Alternatives, along with existing capital commitments from institutional investors, will fully fund BrightNight’s 5-year business plan and back the execution of its 31GW project portfolio. 

Launch of Tierra Bonita Solar

Tierra Bonita solar project in Pecos County, Texas has started construction work 

The project is around 2,200 acres with a 306 MWac capacity and produce electricity equivalent to the annual consumption for about 75,000 households and expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 500,000 tons per year. The Tierra Bonita project was established at a total cost of $435 million, of which the company invested $165 million in equity. 

BayWa r.e. completes Nevada solar project 

BayWare r.e. has completed a 200MWac solar project in Nevada which will support the reduction of gold miner’s reliance on carbon-based sources 

Operations of the 1,500-acre project in northern Nevada has been handed over to Nevada Gold Mines (NGM), a gold-producing complex operated by Barrick Gold Corporation. It is expected to produce 17% of NGM’s annual power demand and reduce the miner’s reliance on carbon-based electricity sources. 

Powin secures $200 million in capital from KKR 

Powin, a global leader in battery energy storage solutions, has secured $200 million in capital from KKR, global investment leader.
